Recently, I need to refine a PowerPoint file which is already badly translated by software. It is even harder for me to translate it from original English version what badly translated is even uncomprehensible! Though there is an English version exist, but the version I have is newer and has many more slides. Spent a whole morning in doing this nasty job and only half of it is done. Uh~~~ Sigh.

So what I can tell you is that bad translation should be avoided to be used in real-life production! I will create more headaches than convenience!

Technology is advancing so fast and I have just found a Quantum 1.2 GB Bigfoot Harddisk in my office. You can see how big when it is comparing with a has-been world’s smallest 1GB thumb drive (Kingmax) I bought a few months ago..

I have just taken it from a KCR train. Please be assured – the thing that can’t boot up isn’t the train. It won’t crash anyway. It is just the Newsline Express (the TV set which show Cable TV News) can’t boot up. But it is so funny that seeing the disk boot failure screen shown on a TV set.

Career Change

I mentioned that I will change my job very shortly. And I did success in making the switch. I will be working with my new employer from 23 May. It will be my first job in IT field and will have a lot of opportunities to work with different notable companies, institutes, organisations and even with government departments. I will also be learning quite a lot of technologies and software which are new to me. I hope I will not only get more salary but also get more exposure in business environment and opportunities of personal growth.

Working in Education Sector for nearly 4.5 years, I am now actively seeking an opportunity to change my job nature in business sector. I am trying to find a new job which can utilitize both my technical skills and communication skills. Yesterday, a friend introduced me to have a job interview in the company he is now working for. I am quite interested in the position as I will have opportunity to learn new technologies from different software vendors and provide demonstrations and presentations to clients. I am now looking forward to the second interview with the General Manager. If the interview successful, I will get a raise in my salary, too.

The avatar created have a lot of uses. I used it as my photo for my business card in my treo (which I can beam to people whom I meet) and the avatar of forums and IMs (such as ICQ, MSN Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger and Skype). Don’t you think that it’s cute and useful?

Bought a new PC

Recently, I have just bought a new PC and assembled it by myself. Though there has been a number of problems appeared before I finished installing Windows XP on it, the process of PC “DIY” is fun. I enjoyed the new PC very much, too.

My new PC’s CPU is a Pentium D 830 which is dual-core running at the speed of 3.0GHz (i.e. there are two 3.0GHz CPUs running in my computer). And I have it 1 GB RAM installed and I moved the DVD-ROM and DVD Writer from my old PC to the new one. The new PC also have a good display card – an nVidia Geforce 6600PE with 128MB DDR3 RAM.

Recently, I have been using the new PC for playing newest games such as Shin Sangoku Musou 3 (çœŸä¸‰åœ‹ç„¡é›™3) and Need for Speed Underground 2. These games loasds very fast in my new PC (they will not run on my old PC – My old PC is a Pentium III 800MHz) and the 3D graphics are superb! I am nearly addicted to them.

My new PC is a good gaming platform yet it is bought intended for speeding up my work. The migration of the new PC form the old PC is done slowly because the old PC is still functional (but much slower, of course). I will eventually make the new PC my major working platform. Need some time though.
